Ash Road Saltley
Ash Road, Saltley
I'm curious as to why my mother's family moved from Crawford St. to Ash Road. She says it seemed like a posh place compared to Crawford St. So. I'm wondering did something happen around 1940 to make this possible? and who lived at 44 Ash Road before them?

My earliest memory was catching a Tram from the Fox and Goose to city centre with my mother. My next is the Baggott Island watching the Trams turn around on the Island as it had a turn table in the middle, Im not sure if its still there as all they seemed to do was fill it in or so it seemed.

Lee Crescent
This row of late-georgian terraced houses have, surprisingly, survived substantial modern redevelopment of the area, despite one side of the road being demolished for widening of Lee Bank Road.

Zig Zag Bridge Packhorse Bridge Aldridge Road
There was once a plaque on the bridge - left (probably giving some history of the bridge ?) I don’t have a date for this one. Viv. The bridge over the canal at Tower Hill was similar but wider if I remember correctly.
