Cut throat passage

While looking for something else I found the cutting below, from Birm. Post.4.9.1868. There are other references to Hangman's lane , but I can find not other reference to a Cut throat passage off Weaman St (or anywhere else in Brum). other than 8 other references in the newspaper archives from papers outside Birmingham which have repeated this story.
