Birmingham has through the years has had its share of many wonderful buildings. Sadly a lot of those for one reason or another have disappeared, be it due to urban renewal, development, or just lack of care. I thought that between us we might record some of these buildings here, there are numerous photos of some examples of Birmingham’s wonderful architecture on this forum but they give very little detail of the buildings history. I thought that we might try to attempt that here; all that I ask is that contributors include with any photo that they may post a little of the history of that building, facts such as the date of building, architects name or company, original use, cost of building, type of material used, in fact anything of interest. I thought I would make a start with the Birmingham Market Hall.
