Didn't know this little gem still existed. It's not that striking as a building and it's hidden behind shrubs but it has a lot of history. Not only once a private residence, it's also been a school, a children's home, and currently it provides homes for the elderly. I think the original entrance was on George Road. The photo below from the late Bill Dargue's site would have been taken from Brookvale Road, near the junction with George Road. I'm also attaching some history from Bill's site.

Also attaching some info from the Warwickshire Industrial Schools site. This explains about the school that moved in 1902 from Penn Street, Deritend to the Witton Hall site.

Couple of the private residents were in 1785 John Boswell and in 1799 William Barrs.

In 1939 the residents were evacuated from Witton Hall and it was used for “other purposes.” By 1944 the Council were proposing to try to compulsory purchase land from Witton Allotments to extend the Hall. But what were the “other purposes” that it was used for ?
