Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.
This morning my husband, who is a Graphic Designer, sent me the two following web sites. They are about corporate logos that are no longer
being used. One of them is the Robertson's Golliwog. I remember saving up for ages the paper golliwogs that were in the lid of the marmalade and jam jars in the l950's so that I could send away for a Golliwog brooch, which I wore on the underside of the blazer lapel (no jewellery allowed at school) I never thought about the golliwogs being racist at all.
Stephen, who runs the www.sterlingtimes.co.uk site has web pages on the Golliwog and it's history.
I also remember sending away for a Prescold Moneybox Fridge and
also something from Trex but I'll be darned if I remember what it was. Did anyone else send away for such items?
