Not Birmingham but near, anyone know the location of the picture between Windmill and Baptist Ends ?

A "Star" in the twilight of its career, still hauling an express passenger train, though hardly on its normal route. No.4061 "Glastonbury Abbey" with the 2.10pm from Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level (formed out of the 10.00am ex-Paddington) on 23rd September 1956. Sunday engineering work caused this train to be diverted from the main line, via Handsworth Junction, Old Hill and the Bumble Hole' to join the route from Stourbridge to Wolverhampton at Netherton (Blower's Green). The train is seen climbing through the Black Country wilderness between Windmill End and Baptist End on the Bumble Hole line. (Michael Mensing)

The old railway now leads to the Bumble Hole Nature Reserve, with Cobb’s Engine to the left of the bridge at the top of the picture.

BR Standard Class SMT No.73015 climbs the Lickey with a cross country express, late summer 1956. Blood and custard gives way to maroon.

45690 Leander, also preserved, was a regular through New Street being a Bristol shedded engine.

New Street used to be awash with Jubilees on both the Midland and Western sides.
 
All the "Kings" were temporarily withdrawn for several weeks, whilst a fault discovered on the front bogies was modified. Locos were loaned from the London Midland Region and here Pacific No.46237 "City of Bristol" arrives at Birmingham Snow Hill with a train of assorted Great Western stock, May 1955.
