The 'then' pictures are taken from old postcards, the 'now' pictures taken from Google Streetview.
The older of the pictures is thought to date from the 1920's.

The shop on the right used to be the army and navy store for yearsThe Google Earth picture of Church House, High Street. I think it was built around 1911 and became quite popular for meetings and productions in the early part of the century.
