    We lived in the house attached to the shop till 1957, I vaguely remember Mrs Maguire coming to look around our house. Her property I think was being demolished so the council sent her look at our house, we moved to Kings Norton. My mother kept the house spotless inside and out.

    My daughter's friend was clearing out her old books and a paperback copy of "A Walk Down Summer Lane" was amongst them so picked it up for me. It is a collectable book, so hold on to it if you have one!

    My cousin Leonard Griffiths is on the photo, he's the boy wearing the glasses in front of the lady holding a child. He retired from active duty in the RAF but still works for them. Len received an MBE for his charitable work whilst in the RAF.

    Hello Paul, my husband moved from Scotland about 1954 to live in Kitwell Lane, he left the area in 1968 when we got married and we moved back there in 1973 till 2002. Bartley Green is celebrating it's centenary in November.

    The man who owned the shop as I remember was quite big? I worked in a hairdressers in Wheeler St and the girls who worked in the shop used to send me to buy their records. One that always reminds of the hairdressers was Georgie Fame's "YEH YEH," just playing it now on Youtube!
