    Photo booths of Birmingham

I remember there was one in the 60s Bull Ring, I think it was at the bottom of the escalator which went up from the New Street end. A friend and I squeezed in to have a photo taken of us both!

    Canals of Birmingham

I can't answer that I'm afraid, I live in London now! It looks a great place, I'm ashamed to say I was not aware of it when I lived in Brum although, as the young lady who had worked at the Crescent Theatre also said in the clip, I knew some of the area around.

Aston brook tavern powell st aston

That's an interesting coincidence, my Grandad was a Charles Spencer from Aston and he did catering for a boxing club during a period when he couldn't get any other sort of work. Unfortunately I never asked my Dad details of whereabouts it was etc - probably a different person anyway!

Here's a type of old street lamp I've found that looks similar to what it may have been..

    Street furniture

Hmm strange isn't it, it looks like it might have been a lamp but then there's a more usual design of lamp nearby on the 1952 photo - maybe it was of an older redundant style? It looks like there was a Ladies toilets in front of it but I can't imagine that had anything to do with it!

    Birmingham museum and art gallery.

The Museum and Art Gallery is saying they will not be selling off any of their Collection to fund the Council's debts so that's good news! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20ljz7l7y2o

Charles Hawtry in Littlewoods, High St.

Interesting! He was great in the Carry On films but I believe he was a bit of a strange guy in real life.

127 Church Lane, Handsworth (1948) Mandalay Nursing Maternity Home

Ah right, I knew the family lived in Kingstanding in the 60s, just assumed they lived in Handsworth originally.

127 Church Lane, Handsworth (1948) Mandalay Nursing Maternity Home

All very interesting about the house on Church Road! We lived in Wood Lane off Handsworth Wood Road so very near. As Viv mentioned, I read somewhere that Steve Winwood was born at that address so I had a look on Google, I assumed the family must have lived in the house, or part of it, in 1948. I...

    Does nobody die anymore?

Not sure about that but maybe as 'passed away' sounds less sharp than died?
