A challenge to fill the void between Christmas and New Year, GREAT
The clue is a 2nd June 1962 Murder Mystery at Bates's NewsagencyFar too clever for me. That mystery didn't last long!

observation ...the 2nd door on the right seems to say its no 3 so either its my eyes or its the beginning of a street or road..the properties look in good nick so they could still be standing...

Lyn the newsagent was shot dead during a robbery ,his attacker was sentenced to death and was the last person to hang in Winson Green prison.
I would agree Lyn. The rounded building in the background of the first picture and the Lozelles bus stop.mark i would say yes they were taken on the snow hill side great photos...isnt that the old weslyan and general building corner of snow hill and colmore row. maybe someone could confirm that....just tried the link you posted but it does not work for me

The first two are in front of the Snow Hill station hotel, some call it Colmore Row but in times past it was Steelhouse Lane as far as Livery Street then Colmore Row to Victoria Square. It was the terminus for Soho Road services (Handsworth, West Bromwich, Wednesbury and Dudley) and had been for the tram services beforehand. Can someone confirm if these 2 photos were taken on the Snow Hill side of the station please?
