Lloyd. It's not Witton road is it?. Did you have a look at my old old old photo's. You may like to play around with them. Jean.

Well done, GER22VAN, here's your prize. The people sitting around will help you carry it home.

Not Aston either!
A clue? This was one of the earliest tram to bus conversions, and the bus was a one-man single decker! There was no demand for a twin track double deck tram service!

Lloyd,

Looking at the houses on your photo, I would say it was somewhere posh like Handsworth.

Go on Lloyd I'll give it you. It was in fact Branksome, Chine. Going to bed in ten mins as were off again to Arley Monday evening. Got a family barbi in the afternoon and have to do my bit of side stuff. Bombay aloo etc. Enjoy it though. Nighty night. Jean.

As none of you can guess mine, here's the original pic.

Lloyd

I have been down that road a thousand times when I was a nipper, and I never would have guessed it. I can't even remember tram lines, let alone trams

Havn't a clue nice photo though. I think you might be right because that used to be the mens day out or Bala lakes. That's my dad third from the left. Arn't I a tease. Jean.

Jean

You must get a lap top, I used to take one with me to our van.

Now who's going to tell me where this is, when you have worked it out. It shouldn't be that hard. Can anybody tell me if it is still standing?

Phil

If I am right, it is still there but it was hit by arsonists, but they come unstuck, as it is going to be rebuilt.

You are right, I hadn't heard about the fire. I'm glad to hear its going to be renovated. I must say its something you rarely hear these days and it was no way for a fine old building to end its days.

Pity they didn't have this frame of mind earlier, we might have saved some of the buildings of equal merit that surrounded it.

Phil

It's got to be about 18 months ago it was hit by arsonists, but you can still see what a grand building it is.
