Thats strange Lyn :confused2: I have just clicked on it and the sound is there. Is the volume turned up on your computer aswell as on the radio play link?
perhaps you could try going to the Radio WM website - Carl Chinn show - and click on it there and see if it works - hope you get to listen to it :)

The interview was lovely,Wendy you have missed your vocation you could become a broadcaster.

That is very kind of you Alberta I was so scarred of loosing the thread...as you do. The others Brian, Colin, Bob and the wonderful Brian Jones from the Pen Room helped me along. I have to say Carl does put you at your ease.

Don't forget our Keyhill Brian was on as well. A nice bit of publicity for us.

I hope this works - my first attempt at posting a picture - the grave at Warstone Lane which mentions the Titanic.

Here are two gravestones in Warstone Lane Cemetery. One is Abraham Hilliar's Family Grave which was recently restored, with the help of Key Hill Brian, and Memsafe. It was broken and laid in pieces but is now back in it's rightful place. The other one is my husband's Grandmother, Eliza Pressdee.

I thought some details of Eliza's grave might be of interest. In 1942, the kerbstones cost £13. 5s.0d. Green chippings would have been £4 extra. The kerbstones are "Forest of Dene" and the engraving in black lettering was £2. 7s. 6d. The funeral cost £19.

Been to Warstone Lane cemetery today to put a cross on our sister Renee's plot. And while we was there we meet Keyhill Brian what a lovely man if it wasn't for the people on this forum we would never had know that Renee lived for a very short time bless her.Thank You All So Very Much.Irene xx

Irene

So glad you have found her:) Brian is a great person. He pinpointed a grave for me in Handsworth as it didn't have a stone.

It was good to bump into Pat & Irene today (& the chap whose name I have forgotten - Vince? - Sorry - Head like a sieve at present)

This is the grave now they have raked it and planted the memorial cross

And in typical 'Friends' fashion, after they had cleared the area for Renee, they noticed this Floyd family headstone in pieces, nearby O 1095, and completed the Jigsaw!
9 in the grave!

What a lovely picture of Warstone Lane I have never seen that one before.

Fantastic picture stars - especially for me as it shows my 3x Gt Grandparents grave - the tall obelisk on the right hand side. There is another of my family graves at the side of it but it is just off the picture - what a shame the photographer didn't stand just a few feet further over to the right.
Last year Brian spent many hours going through records to find these graves for me. When I saw the obelisk I couldn't believe how tall it was. The other grave would have been beautiful too - a cross mounted on a large tiered base and it looks as if there were metal posts and chains around it - but they are missing - probably removed for the war efforts and the cross has been laid down. My 3 x Gt Grandparents owned the Gate Inn in Icknield Street - I often wonder if they chose this plot, looking towards Icknield Street for that reason.

Hi Pollypops
I am so pleased for you. You just never know do you. It gives me great pleasure when something like this happens.

Regards Stars

The white headstone visible in the foreground behind the car is a dark one in the 1950 picture - most of the rest were buried under Brambles - now they are just buried!

..........(Trust Pollypops to have one bigger than everyone else!):frog: (Green with envy!)..... :playful: LOL

It is so sad the graves were buried. I do wish they were all still there.

As soon as I can next year I want to tidy up the graves around the obslisk - I will post a picture when I have done them.
