Hi Brian and welcome to BHF. We are always interested in hearing about the Birmingham based engineering enterprises. Tangye did have a worldwide reputation of excellent engineering. I once found a Tangye gas engine on the Greek Island of Santorini

It never ceases to amaze me where some of the equipment made by Tangye ended up. This small water pump is in a remote part of the Peak District on the River Wye north of Bakewell.

I recently traveled up to the top of Mount Poverty to visit an elderly neighbour who collect's old machinery. Low and behold I found a Tangye Birmingham 6 1/2 v 1878. I found the story about the Ferry called the wattle that ran on the Lane cove River in the 1800's. Apologies the picture files are to big such a shame.
