Had a walk in Sutton Park yesterday and met a gang ........of Ponys. I decided not to walk along the one path, but met two more on the other path, the one in the path snorted and lunged at me - I almost felt like climbing a tree !

Dave love your fox and rabbit. Old Mowhawk if it happens again just hold your arms out to the side and show em whose boss. Jean.

My Grandfather used to leave his cows in Sutton Park and each year my father went into the park to round them up. Regards, David

When we left Aston for Mere Green dad bought a block of land where we had pigs, chooks, geese and a vegetable patch. Now that was eating top tucker. Regards, David.

Does anyone remember the Scouts Jamboree held in early 1950's where scouts came from all over the world. I still have a couple of photos taken there with different scouts.

Nice one Dave we are due a visit to the park not been for a few weeks been too busy. You know what they say all work and no play????????. Jean.

Where do I start Dave well you know another saying "A womans work??????. No seriously we must get back into the park and maybe just maybe call in for a drink by the lake. Bye. Jean.

You breathed the same air as me for I lived in the next street to it, Gladstone Street, and Atkinsons Brewery is still in my nostrils. One night a bomb came into our Anderson shelter and we spent the night in the public one under the brewery listening to someone playing the piano and everyone singing. Regards, David.
When I was Young (a very long time ago) I remember the Railway ran through the Park, is that still the case ??? Eric

After a bit of a damper we went on to Sutton Park Streetly gate [my least favourite] but had a long walk with the dog [and Peter] but everywhere we went were confronted with cows and dogs off their leads. If there are no other dogs about we let him off as he never runs off [yet] he is microchipped and his colar has our address and phone No on. Well when the cows began to come towards us we made a sharp exit. On the whole not our day today. Never mind you can't win em all. A couple of photo's of the cows in the distance. Bye. Jean. This is not my day they have not gone into fine pics. Arrrgggg. Jean.

The Jamboree Stone, Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield. Len.

The plaque commemorates the World Jubilee Scout Jamboree held in the park in August, 1957. Thousands of Scouts from 42 different countries throughout the world attended.

hi gg jean
My dad and i went to the park in the week i was going to take him fishing but Alas we got held up so it was too late
jean on reading your post i had to have a bit of a smile to my self about the cows and dogs i have never seen the cows on leads dogs now and then but never cows i wonder did they have bells in case there horns do not work

you do seem to come across some strange things in the park but the one thing that stands out is the amount of people on bikes i fear for the safety of my dad hes not to fast on his feet pb

Oh I do have a way with words and often confuse people even myself sometimes best friend. Nice photo's Len. I agree with what you are saying about bikes only yesterday Pete said the speed limit applies to them too but you wouldn't think it. Hope you get to go fishing soon. Bye. Jean.
