as youngsters i dont think we took much notice of buildings i know i didnt...i must have walked past st silas mission church in nursery road hundreds of times going back and forth to lozells girls school but for the life i me i cant recall itMust have past it a few times myself - cannot place the wall and steps even! Mind you, memory is not what it once was........

I can remember the church quite well, I used to pass it on the number 16 bus to town going to work.these apartments now stand where the church was..i believe they retained some of the old pillars from the church

sorry jan...my fault for confusingI am confused - where does St Silas Mission fit in to the picture?
I don't know the area but have done some digging via planning sites and directories..
The articles refer to a Congregational Church which was at Soho Hill (100)
But ... according to a google search St Silas Church was somewhere else .
