You must all understand that there has been so many posts on this thread that I may re-produce one un-intentionally.
This is an unusual one of The Hall of Memory.
Sorry to be difficult, Stitch, but I think the picture was a bit later than the early 50s. I left Brum in March 1959, after working in the city council office which dealt with things like new statues for over three years, and have no recollection of that sculpture. Nelson's statue yes, the other dasy I found scribbled measurements of the old plinth in the back of my 1958 diary, and may post them soon, after I have scanned them of course.
Also, looking at the background, I would think that the pic dates from the 70s or even early 80s.
Could be wrong of course.

Mike, do you know that to be Steel House Lane. It looks a lot like Moor Street to me but I am probably wrong.
Hi Rupert, as the card quotes Steel House Lane I took it that is what it shows, but old cards are not always reliable in their captions. Perhaps it is Moor Street, but so far before our time wouldn't like to say.
