I lived very close to here as a kid, and this is just as I remember it. The white-overalled attendant who held the petrol pipe away from cars paintwork behind his legs! The pub to the right was the New Talbot, nicknamed "Dirty Bet's" - a name it actually carried later. Now demolished, sadly.View attachment 116586

I don't know the local names, but it looks like Lock No 1 on the Stratford on Avon canal and the picture compliments the guide book description of the lock which oldie has correctly named as a guillotine lock, installed to stop the SoA stealing water from the Birmingham and Worcester canalView attachment 117023

The answer to your question, Shortie, I have an address to write to about school records.Fingers crossed.I was shocked at the St Thomas's school photo - I have only ever seen a drawing of the school and this is obviously the back. It does look down at heel and rather sad. Does anyone know if the school records are preserved and if they are online?
