Thanks for posting those photos Lyn. I enjoyed them so much, especially the one of St Martins 1942 which I hadn't seen before.

Lovely pictures as usual, Lyn! I specially like the 1920 Oliver Street works outing shown in post #117. Was there any more information in the caption or elsewhere in the magazine? With your permission I will re-post it on the Midland Red Early Days thread.

Re post 122, i have been in that building when it was a cinema (a right flea pit), I think to see a Charlie Chaplin film forgot which one, then when it was a venue for wrestling, once only, even I could see it was all rehearsed and play acting and later used to look after the tele equipment there when it was leased to the BBC during my time with PO Telephones/BT. What I would like to know is (a) has it had any other use/function and (b) when was it demolished. Eric

You know,

Its very dissapointing that who ever is responsible for such a barbaric act of trying to destroy this sites credibility by hacking into its infrastructure and thereby removing such great pictures of its patrons.''wicked of the highest order''....''total morons''.''A good slapping with a wet smelly fish is in order''
You know....I do believe that if discovered a good solicitor representing this sites developers could land em a ''jail term''.

Repost em every one..the site and the time is worth it.
