Hello Lyn,
Re post no. 20 stated as Cromwell St.
I knew that street like the back of my hand, and I don't think it is Cromwell Street, maybe one of the courts leading off, which I suppose theoretically would be Cromwell St.
What does the caption say (if there is one).
I'd be interested to know.
Regards John.
Brilliant photos by the way, I would have loved to have had that paper(never even heard of it).

hi john....this is the problem...sometimes there is not a caption under each pic but the story that goes with it leads us to believe in this instance its cromwell st...the other pic that went with it deffinately is as ive seen it before...like you say it could be a court off it...i will go back and try to find the issue i took it out of and read it again and get back to you...

lyn...

ps its deffinately somewhere in nechells as it is an article on the area...lol

hi john..the pic you are talking about was from a 1993 old brum paper...its a 2 page story of the memories of a man who was born in cromwell st in 1920.....that pic is a random one somewhere in nechells but where is anybodys guess....

lyn

John

Its definitely a court, you can see a washing line strung out from above one of the doors and I don't think that they did that across the road even in Cromwell St.

Phil

Great pictures Lyn, thank you so much - I am always interested to see the ones of the back to back's as my mother was brought up in one. I had no idea how they could have been in Watery Lane.
