I walked down here last summer to get a better look at Perrotts Folly, there's still a lot of the old houses / buildings remaining. We now have a general view down Waterworks Street , Harold Road onthe left and Perrotts Folly in the distance , the houses on the right remain but those on the corner of Harold Road have been replaced . Remember the old road signs it looks easy to miss and has no light over it either

ahh the love of my life until it closed down early 70s..this used to be spring hill rollar rink and before that an ice rink...far as i know it was never a cinema but stand to be corrected but ive not heard it was..spent 4 or or 5 nights a week there roller skating..very happy days and gutted when without notice it was closed and boarded upOur next picture is taken in Summerhill Road, once a FIAT dealership, this now boarded up property was apparently a Cinema in the 1950's. Everything boarded up and Fly posted in 1992

still there steve looking neglected now but the trees are still thereThe next few are added for interest (!) as the quality is not amazing and the description is vague . This is Powell Street and Summer Hill Terrace
Is this The Summerhill - trying to read the words and guessing . Always surprised me the row of trees that mange to remain among the roads and industrial landscape

Thanks Mike saw the picture but the carts at the front were different, didn't think to look down the line for the rest!!

The infamous Whisky a Go Go club location in the '60s....We are back in the city again September 1957 and this is the corner of John Bright Street Navigation Street, imagine having a corner like this these days - giant Guinness advert - large Senior Service Cigarette advert, and Chetwyns " Mans Shop" - Oh the complaints there would be !!!
