I have quite a few of these. They were photographed by my mum on half-frame 35mm slides, hence the dust. I did a mass scan some years ago and decided it would take too long to clean them all and that I might damage them in the procees. I could always go back and re-scan something worth the effort. Most of them are of people who would have been clients of the Family Service Unit at the time, late 1960s, early 1970s, I guess.
I did think about privacy etc. but I have no record who any of the subjects were and at least forty years have passed since they were taken so they are pretty well anonymous.
At the time the slum clearance programme must have been nearly completed, new buildings were springing up in the city centre, underpasses, ring roads etc. yet still there were bare-foot children around.
