Bristnall's End Mill.
Situated off present Livingstone Road, Birchfield. The mill had disappeared by the time Samuel Botham undertook his survey of Handsworth in 1794. Field Numbered "Windmill Piece.”

1890 Edgbaston Mill from Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society.

Edgbaston Mill.

Survey by Ironbridge Archaeology in 2004.
Features dated in range from 17-20C.
In use by 1284. Noted again 1495. In 1700 described as 4 water com mills.
By c 1710, 5 grinding stones.
The 1913 OS Map of Moseley refers to the buildings as Edgbaston Mill Farm.
Mill was demolished between 1916 and 1925.

Can’t see a mention of King’s Mill, which according to Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society was about a mile from Saltley Mill, and not half a mile distant from two mills built by Thomas Holte.

The Coldbath source seems to have been supplemented by a headrace - possibly c1760s - according to Carl Chinn's comments in the paragraph 'Rebuilt'.

This Birmingham Post article suggests the earliest referenced mill in documents is from some deeds of 1322 and being that of Alan the Miller (!) owner of the land between Park Street and the River Rea.

The information I have with this Photo : statesTHE Millas being erected in 1754 as a CORN MILL.Becoming a button mill in 1762. Demolished 1938.
IT JUST SHOWS THAT YOU CANNOT TRUST THE WRITTEN WORD.Same Mill built with two differing uses stated for its conception.
