Computer help please 2025

Something different, charity shop purchase so probably quite old! Seal binoculars with digital camera, model DG 0527627, has a CD-ROM, remember those. CD-Rom references Arcsoft Photo Impression 4.0.
If I download a more modern version of Arcsoft Photo Impression am I likely to be able to use this digital camera via USB lead, only a toy really, just a bit of fun, not sure why I want to bother when I can use i-phone or my Cannon Powershot.
Any pitfalls. Ta!

Someone who thinks like I do. A whole 0.3 Mp resolution, 640 x 480 pixels. Will it work? I too would just have to find out. Then put it in a drawer with all the other tech that has had its day.
Take care when buying the 2 AAA batteries for it, you may unwittingly double its value, then you would be committed to making it work. ;).
Andrew.

As things stand, Photo Impression doesn't exist any more. If you try to download a later version, there's an even chance it's a fake.

If what you've got doesn't work see if you can get by with just moving the images from the camera onto whatever else you want them for. There are free image editors available on line (Gimp for example) that will do the editing. I've not seen so much avout the cataloging function but you can get Adobe's Bridge for just a sign up.

Those old 0.3MP cameras were everywhere in the early 2000s. If the camera shows up as a USB device you may not need the original software at all. Sometimes they just appear as a removable drive.

I run microsoft outlook on my iPhone. I need to refresh my security, not by choice! All goes well until we get to "Help us beat the robots" Press and hold the lozenge which I have done so many times. It always wants me to "Please try again" Even my patience has a limit!

I'm no expert but this is what Google says...

To bypass the "Help us beat the robots" CAPTCHA in Outlook/Microsoft, use an Incognito/InPrivate browser window, try a different network (mobile hotspot), or select the audio challenge option. If the screen freezes or fails, clear your browser cache, disable extensions, or wait to try again later.

I have windows 11 on my P.C. and in Pictures I have folders for 2025 and 2026 as well as other things like phone pics......now all of a sudden when I was editing pics the 2025 folder went missing. I have looked through other things like downloads/documents and recycle bin and no sign.
I can remember there was a place in pre windows 7 that you could look for a location for things like folders etc but I have no idea how I could find this place.
Would anyone know what I am on about and if it exists please.
Thanks

just put that into search and worryingly lots of others asked similar things.........lot of which I dont understand as about all I can do is turn a PC on.

I tried using the stuff on the link and got nowhere............no sure it went to "explorer" with windows + E.
As I say I have zero understanding of computers.
Keith If you’re still looking for your folder/files try this:

Open file explorer and navigate to This PC>Local Disc>users

In the menu at the top of the page select View>Show>Hidden Items (In case the folder has somehow become hidden)

In the box marked ‘Search Users’ enter the name of the folder you are looking for (or the name of one of the missing files)

Click the magnifying glass to start the search

This search could take a long time - the tab on the top left of the screen will indicate if it’s still searching!

Let me know how you get on.
