I just reread Bobs post and can subscribe to most of what is written. What I dislike is that the exterior for most cases on newer buildings is not structural and can be made to look cosmetically pleasing. For the most part, £££’s are the driving factor and not design or asthetics. Age will not treat them well as we are already seeing.

Guggenheim was a photographic studio. It occupied the top floor of the corner of New Street / Pinfold Street around the turn of the 19th to 20th century. No relation to the wealthy American family.Hi Lyn, I loved those two pictures and have been wondering about the Guggenheim sign below the large windows on the top right. I seem to remember it was queried on another thread but my memory has let me down.
