Brilliant, that helps alot. Are there any directories between 1918-30, I am looking to see when the business was in Henry E Smith's name before transfering back to a Schulze. We know he took over the business in 1918, but are unsure if the name changed or how long he owned the business for.

My grandmother married Maxmillion Fischer - the son of Harry Fischer who was born in Kiel Germany. They lived at the back of 60 Pershore St in 1891 census - Harry was a sausage skin manufacturer however in 1901 is described as a butcher and then living in Dean St. This is interesting maybe a coincidence or did Bruno take over from him?

Hi, thanks for the info. It's been a while since I looked at the Schulzes, I'll have to check if I have anything that mentions Fischer, it doesn't sound familiar, but a few years ago I was contacted by a lady whose relative had a shop in Kidderminister I think and she had a book with Bruno Schulze stamp in it...so I think they all had good contacts during that time and I'm sure both being from Germany they helped each other out.

Dean Street was just adjacent to Pershore Street so I'm sure they would have had contact. The Schulzes were from Stade and Hamburg, not sure in relation to Kiel, but yes I'll refresh myself on the family...there's a lot to check through! I wonder, depending on dates, whether anyone attended your grandmother's wedding!
