Nice bit of detective worth. Thanks for posting. A story from when the building was an operational fire station. There was a problem backing into the appliance room, the wireless aerial kept fouling the ceiling. So, the Station Officer in his wisdom chopped 6 inches off the aerial, then wondered why he couldn't raise Fire Control. He should have known that the length of the aerial is dependent on the Brigade wireless frequency. He had a job to live that down.

I don't know the name of the officer leading the parade possibly the Chief Officer? The 2nd officer is DCO Yapp a very experienced officer who served pre-war and throughout the war.
