can you place any forum issues in here after the rebuild

I always use the bell system. In my experience (over years, not just now), email notifications seem to be unreliable. Don't know if this is necessarily at the BHF end, but rather mine - possibly when my system has been updated. So I think the bell system is probably the most reliable - well for me at least.

The bell shows answered threads (ones I've participated in) and replies to conversations. The envelope shows replies to private conversations only.

I've never been able to work out why my email alerts start and stop - all randomly, so have never relied on alerts via email.

I have all alerts turned off. PMs show next to the envelope but that is all. When I click on my saved link it takes me straight to new posts. I can see which I have contributed to as my avatar shows on that thread. Then I scroll to see if any new threads might interest me.

The only notification I get is when I look at the bell with the Forum open.

Previously when i logged on I would always select "new posts" and when I had read a post it would disappear from "new posts".

Now when I select "new posts" and read a post, it remains in "new posts".

William.

This has just happened to me .When i pressed the post button this came up on the screen.

If members are unable to resolve any duplicate posts themselves, I shall be removing them regularly, just so it doesn't clog up threads and prove a distraction when reading through the thread. This is a temporary measure until we can resolve the problem. Thanks all for your patience.

We are unable to delete our own posts Viv. That is not an option.

Yes I realise Janice. Should have been more specific, was referring to the action you helpfully suggested in post #385. If members still cant resolve the problem and end up with duplicate posts I'm prepared to delete all the duplicate posts. Sorry for confusion.
