thats smashing thanks mort...do you know i dont know the location..its our dads sister junes wedding day so i must ask her...will let you know..oh thats dads brother dennis standing behind my gt nan..both june and dennis are on post 86..the photo was taken in bromgrove 1956

Martin1.jpgmichael1.jpgRight, hope this is OK?. I have taken the liberty of cropping off the right hand side on image 2 because I think the composition looks better, and restoring the missing area would not add anything to the image, and would look a mess is not done well.

Who where and when? Is there anything on the back of these photos?
 
Thank you morturn a great improvement, the first pic is of my brother martin and me and our dog sandy abt 1959 on the step of our house 127 bordesley park rd small heath
the second one is again me and my brother and my best friend at the time Brian Upton just up the rd from the first one abt 2 yrs later, once again thank you. Michael

Thank you Morturn AND Lofty That's a Great improvement the photos are of my maternal grandmother Ellen O Donoghue/stack/levins with her second husband joseph levins taken early 1960s in high Wycombe her first husband Michael stack my grandfather died in ww1 and is buried in France, once again thank you both.

RANDOM PICS 7TH MAY 2014 003.jpgmany thanks lofty and mort and dennis...what a great improvement..dennis i dont normally go for the colour touch ups but i love that one you have done and i have just noticed that in pic 2 there is a kind of buggy seat attached to the pram which must have been for me to sit on with young brother in the pram..those prams were heavy enough so it must have taken some doing pushing it all the way from paddington st aston to handsworth park...last week i went to the park to try and find the exact spot where i was standing holding the pram about 58 years ago...given modern cameras and parks and trees can change over the years i tried to line myself up with the tree behind me(which may not be the the same tree but a replant) and the bandstand showing either side of it...i dont think its far off..

These are 'real' photos aren't they? Regular families having fun, getting married etc. Love to see these even if you don't know who the people are. I like looking at the detail, not only of the people but the backgrounds too. And when someone (Morturn, Lofty, Dennis!!) kindly cleans them up, what treasures. Lovely. Viv.
 
Indeed they are Viv, I never tire of looking at photos like this, they seem to capture something special about our past lives.
 
quite right mort and viv...the written word is of course great but pre camera days drawings and then the photographs gave us all moments in time captured forever..

this delightful family photo is really badly damaged but i would appreciate it if anyone could have a go at a tidy up please...it is on thick card and is about 16 inches by 18 inches in size and was used as a backing on an old painting.. and when removed from the painting and turned over this photo was discovered...if anyone recognises this family please get in touch as i would love to return it...looks to me to be taken during or close to ww1 there again it could have been ww2...i am hoping our uniform experts may help date it..
