Hi Carolina - For some reason I could only see one pic. I've had a go but someone can probably do better.
Pic A still has the colour (sepia) and Pic B has the colour taken out.

oh thanks mort...thats a splendid job for such a poor photo...this pic only came to light at dads funeral yesterday and sent to me by one of our old neigbours...lovely to see my sister on it as well...been trying for years to find a shot of my side of the street so i am over the moon...its definately taken outside my house at no 118 i can just make out our little picket fence...as i always say..they are out there somewhere and turn up at the most unlikely times and places..

I think the problem is that in your post #29 the 'Picture1 141.jpg got doubled up somehow as you can see in the image I have copied of my laptop below. I can actually see 3 images when you intended to only post 2 images. This has probably confused something in the forum database. I think the best thing to do is re-scan the photo and post it with a different name, or load your existing pic into a picture editor program and re-save it with a different name.

Oldmohawk, you are in the wrong job. My neighbour has taken a photograph which has slight cracks/creases in for a copy to me made and the local shop quoted £20 - £30 to reproduce without the creases etc.

oh yes very happy days indeed..there is six of us kids and although money was tight back then and the houses may not have been up to scratch we had more than enough love to make it a very happy childhood..

Hi Carolina - I'm far from being good at improving photos. I use an old program called Paintshop pro which was free when I got it from a magazine in 1997. Anyone using Photoshop should always be able to do a better job but patience and a steady hand is needed.

Thanks for you message. Am I being too cheeky???????? This is a rather damaged photo of my other Gt Grandmothers Grocery Shop on Vauxhall Road, Duddeston. Her second husband Philip Nash stands proudly outside. The array of wares is so fascinating.....
Can you do anything to improve it?
