I am trying to find the place and date of this distant ancestor's death. A recent "hint" thrown up by Ancestry is the following.
The 1911 census lists his wife Elizabeth Lucy Wilson as a widow living with her father and 3 daughters. The youngest girl is only 1 year old
and so I'm presuming Alfred's death is sometime in 1910.
I have looked to see if he was a serving soldier at the time of his death but with no success. Forces War Records show some sort of record for him but I do not have a subscription for this site to view the record held. The above record from Ancestry states he served in the North West but is this N.W. England or could it be N.W. Frontier in India? (No luck on Wickipedia for campaigns in India in 1910)
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions to help my research
