Keith Berry's Photos (bhf Recovered)

It should be possible to extract the individual images form the PGF files and to post them on here. Do you know how each of the PDF file area arranged, i.e. grouped by place or road etc?
Examples below, title shows where photos/area/roads are taken, Both files have 48 photos on each file (only first 4 shown) , I think in total about 600 photos!

This is what Phil wrote in 2016

Hi Viv - Keith Berry had arranged this particular group of 400 images into 10 pages in pBase and I kept to that arrangement. I used the pdf format because it was the easiest way to place his titles and comments with the relevant images. The pdf files are in the forum's image host Coppermine and can be accessed there by any forum member.

Uploading 600 jpg images to Coppermine would be difficult without the multi-uploader working. Also it would be a very long and difficult job trying to place the titles and comments with the images in Coppermine because the file names on many images do not give any clue as to what the images are.

There is an existing 'Keith Berry's Photo Galleries' thread
I could post the pdf files in that thread.

Following shows what each folder/file contains:

Keith Berry's 'Old Birmingham & Surroundings' Photo Gallery

Yes, that's definitely possible.

I have the professional software needed to extract the images from the PDF files directly, which will preserve the best possible quality. Once extracted, we can work as a team to categorize them by area and timeframe before posting them here.

As a first step, to ensure we preserve the data in the best condition, could you please send me one of the PDF files using a file transfer service? This will let me test the process and confirm the quality before we do the whole batch.

If you're happy with that plan, I'll send you a private message with the transfer details.

Can I ask why aren't the photos that Phil/Oldmohawk recovered not loading?

A brilliant resource which Phil went to great pains to recover once Keith Berry's site was no longer supported.

I assume they are on a site in an account he held. Since his death that account must have closed.

Sorry to confuse Janice, I meant why are the ones Phil/Oldmohawk posted to BHF now not working ? They were a short while ago. Phil spent a lot of time recovering Keith Barry's photos to BHF and it seems odd to me that Phil's recovered KB photos on BHF no longer work.

i wondered the same thing viv...not a technic but surely any written/image posts made by members remain on the site even if the member has passed away..maybe a question for warren because as you said they were there a short time ago..

They were apprentice on compering, which members could use to store photos. I have not been able to access that for many years though Warren did say many ears ago that I should be able to. I think we have been through at least 2 versions of xeroforo since then,so heaven knows where they are

I suspect Phil was one of the Photobucket or Flicker users where you posted a link to embed the photo, so it shows the image seamlessly. Unfortunately, Photobucket change the game and started asking for a subscription and disabled the links unless people paid up.

That's what I meant although I didn't know where he stored them.
