IN OUR GARDENS 2025

I have a Ceyomur trail cam.. It uses 8 rechargeable energiser batts which last
2/3 days depending on setting. I haven`t caught anything remarkable yet apart from mice on the feeders.
Thanks Smudger, that makes me feel better. Last night was the first time I used the 12volt supply, and it worked at night, so the batteries were at fault. Sadly no hedgehogs, but a three legged cat, that tried to work out what was happening:)

Disaster. :(
I opened the kitchen blind this morning to be greeted by this sight down the garden

went for a closer look

So after 20+ years I am on the hunt for a new bird bath bowl. Unless we decide to replace the base as well but that is 30+ years old.
I think it might have been a fox as I found some "poo" nearby which looked like fox's (according to the images on Google). We do have foxes around.

On a happier note - this rose (Margaret Merrell) bought 10 years ago in memory of my Mom (Margaret) is the best it has ever been.

Not sure, how many nights its been now, without seeing a hedgehog.
I sorted the camera out, and that works fine now, but still nothing.
I'm like demented person, who wont accept the truth, that there are no hogs, I still haven't been brave enough to pull down the shed, that I think they were living in. If we don't have hope, we have nothing.

i take it you have put food down inside the shed to see if it disappears

Sorry lyn, that should read "live under", and yes I've tried the food approach, but it just encourages cats. I had a camera clip once, that showed the cats eating the food, so there was nothing left for the hedgehogs.....and I've tried different structures to deter the cats. I think its just a natural, or unnatural decline. Still holding off on the shed idea

hi boilerman i understand now and yes its a difficult one.. not sure what food you put down but when i had a visiting hog for a few weeks and to deter cats from eating the food i bought a small bag of hog food..he was a creature of habit...same time every night then all of a sudden he stopped coming so after about a week i had to admit that he must have moved on..much to the disappointment of my grandson who was about 4 at the time and as he lives next door to me he would come round most nights to sit in the garden with me and wait for spike as we called him:)
