Travelling from the Stratford Road end, it was situated on the left hand side. Is it still there?

norfolk brummie, afraid not. It was flattened and houses and a Welfare Clinic were erected on the old site.
 
Blimy there's a turn up Lyn survivors , thanks for the info Viv and John , I know the old women's hospital is not there Eddie but I'm unsure weather it moved to the QE site

i know bernie....as i said i actually took a trip down the old end and those houses have not changed at all really....you can always do a street walk and take a look for yourself....

The Women's Hospital is on the QE site but is a separate hospital from the QE. There is a suggestion to merge the Women's and Children's hospitals,, or if not actually merge them, then to share a site and facilities.

Ian Jelf - The presence of a Bristol Road route, the rough shape of the coat of arms on the side of the tram and the architecture of the buildings on the right.

Peter Martin Baggett I used google after reading Ian's post and discovered another version of the photograph complete with original caption. It is 1904 and the inaugural run of the tramway system.

Curiously enough I was looking at pics and facts about the 'Chinese' railway, which ran in the Balsall Heath? area, yesterday. It was an unusual set up to say the least and I guess one had to be familiar with the area to get on a car going in the direction you wanted.

In Michael Byrne's book on Acocks Green. Terminus was at Broad Road from Feb 1916 until Oct 1922, needed an amendment to Tramways Act because outside of tram too close to pavement unless pavement width reduced to six foot. Trams ran until Jan 1937 on single track between Broad Road and The Green.
In his book there is a picture of tram on that narrow section. I walked along that stretch of road to infant school in Acock's Green in 1940's (it was 1/2d on the bus which had wooden slatted seats).
 
I so liked the old Snow Hill Station, with the Grand Hotel being revamped they would have looked great together again
 
Obviously no need of trams or buses here, though it must have been a scorching day as it doesn't seem to be raining so they must parasols on display and not umbrellas in this view of Corporation St which must be pre 1904 as there are no tramways.
