The last nice picture may be of Knopper Gall on acorn.
Apparently if a tree senses it is dying it produces a lot of fruit in an attempt to ensure the species doesn't die out - if I can put it that way.That's a shame. Such a lovely mass of berries.
You must have read my mind. I intend to do just that and see what happens.Is it worth collecting some of the berries and potting them up?
Can the fungi be identified ? Searching the net pictures could indicate it is something called Dryad’s Sadle ?
