Where is this?

master brummie
Do you know where this is? I must have walked passed it hundreds of times, and didn't know it existed until a couple of weeks ago.

Yes Frothblower, I was thinking that myself, I'll have to hop on the bus tomorrow and photograph a clue, that's if nobody gets it in the meantime.

Is it on the building that used to be W.H.Smiths in Corporation St ?

I don't know so I'll have to use a bit of logic and finish up with a guess. Sir Walter Scott was the governor of the Union Insurance Company from 1824 to 1832.

It is possible that as he was such a well known man they would put an image of him on the outside of any branch office they might of been building at the time, possibly in Birmingham.

So as I haven't a clue where that might be, I will guess Colmore Row.

Sounds completely plausible doesn't it, which usually means totally wrong.

Phil,
It does sound very plausible, but its not Colmore Row,in fact it is in a Street in between Colmore Row & Corporation Street,& if you look no more than 10 yards to the right of Sir Walter Scott you will see this.

Well if the owners of the building Peppers have shifted them once, I see no reason why they could not have done the same again.
