Where is This? 90

Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
The last one was much too easy. it went very quickly. So lets see how this one does, with this one it all boils down to if you know it, then thats great. Theres not much to play with if you don't as there is very little of this view that I would think remains today.

A good bit of reasoning Derek, but I'm sorry its the wrong conclusion.

Phil

Rupert

I would be a fair gimp to Camp Hill from here, even for your namesakes army.

Phil

phil thats funny ive just come accross a pic of the ship inn camp hill taken in the 1800s. think prince rupert used to hang out there. by the way ive no idea where it is as per usual.lol

wales.

is it the lower bull ring below were the market was held way back in 19th century

Was it Northfield or Selly Oak, even when we lived there some of the very old houses were that style. They were so expensive we couldn't afford to buy one, very tiny as well. By the tables it looks as though there might have been a market.Very nice picture. Mo

That was my other thought as well, Colin.

its amazing some of these pictures have survived so long . it s brill to see these old brum bits every time i see one old memories fly back

No sorry no one is right so far. I am so sorry (no I'm not,I'm loving it).

Phil

I'll give you a clue, its a really early photograph. It was taken in 1875. So don't expect anything to look the same today.

Phil

thanks phil. thats really helpful lol

lyn
ps do you want me to post the pic of the ship inn taken in 1868.

yep phil youve got it. sakura i dont think so i am going to av a good look at the pic again

lyn

i was going to say banbury cross but thats out of birmingham... dont laff at me phil... im clutching at straws here..

Lyn

There are many things that make me laugh, but a damsel in distress is not one of them, and it looks like you are in distress.

Mo

I am sorry, but it is not Bournville.

Phil

phil i am always in distress. just ask any of the lads over on the 60s banter thread lol.... but what distresses me a lot is the fact that i have photos of pubs taken in 1865 and as you well know i still cant find one of the vine that was still up and running nearly a hundred years later.... now thats distress.

on ward and upwards i shall get it...........eventually

lyn

Guys & Gals to find a solution and over come Phil's challenge we need put our thoughts together and to study the photo and come up with clue's. Its looks like a trading Square with a central point. Whats on the makeshift table? is it part of a market place?

Ive had a close look and that was my g g grandad in mosley village

beamish

No clue other than to signify that it was an early photo.

Colin

Now that can't be true, because it was mine only he was somewhere else.

Bob

You can gang up all you like, but as I said other than seeing the photo before there is only one way you will get this and that is with one mighty guess.

Lyn

Closer to home maybe, but no closer to the solution.
