A git I may be but sneaky never. The pub backed on to my old mates factory Eric Blockley he made fancy lighting and copper kettles and all sorts of fancy goods.
On the other corner was Morris Goldstien the best Tailor in Birmingham. He was also secretary of the All England Table Tennis Association. I remember we transported some tables on one of our lorries as a favour once to a match at the GKN in Heath St Winson Green. Well our lads were no furniture movers and one got a deep scratch in tranport. They had to get one in from somewhere else fast. Needless to say he never asked me again.
I bet he put 20 quid on my next suit for that.
