Who is going to be the first to tell me where this is. I will say one thing I would have been happy to let my wife shop at this shopping parade. I would have even allowed her to take the cheque book.

Sorry to say nobody is even close yet. Where are you Jean? You ask me to run another and we don't hear from you. Come on have a guess. You should know where this is.

Haven't a clue but I am sure PCM has left one or two in the first post. Why be pleased to allow Mrs PCM to shop here and with a cheque book? Being a cryptic crossword fan its doing my head in.( My Emoticons have gone!!).

Sorry it was not a cryptic clue, its just that my wife thinks her hubby has got bottomless pockets. If she bought the whole of that shopping row including the shops it would not equal the amount spent on one of her usual trips.

In the right ballpark just means in the right area. Which means it is in the right area when you say Perry Barr. All I need now is the name of the road. The photo was taken in 1927 and the road has changed quite a bit.

Birchfield road, Wellhead Lane, Franchise street, Aston Lane?. There's a few to be going on with Phyl. Is it where the IMI is?. Jean.
 
I can't understand it, you are mentioning everywhere but the right road. Its one of the main roads in the area.

Its begining to worry me now, that this road is not getting mentioned. But the district is mentioned on the photo and I am almost sure it starts in Perry Barr, but as I have said I'm lost in this area.

If the clue is in the picture is it something to do with motor cycle racing? Was there a speedway at Perry Barr?

Oh Phil you've made my day. I did get one of Mortorman Mekis right but that doesn't count because you were away last year. Do I get a prize Phil?. So my first answer Witton Cemetery was there. Jean you are once again you assuming I know where Witton Cemetery is. It may have well been the location but not knowing the area I can only go on the name or caption on the photo.
