I remember the Chase quite well. One lunchtime I was sitting in there , when a group of young men calmly walked in, un plugged the one arm bandit, pick it up and carried it off. it was found an hour later on the estate with the door smashed open and all the money taken.

apparently the police raided the Crossways on the same night, and arrested a group of people who had large quantity's of change in their pockets. Wryley birch was a very 'interesting' estate!

Hi Morton
Where was the cross ways pub in wyley birch estate was there two pubs on that estate which I come to think of it
If you turned off ridgacre red into wryly way I think there was a pub which I think people as said but take a turning into the estate I think it was either black and white but a smaller pub and if that's the case it was the cross ways pub that after it was empty and delect

I lived opposite the Chase pub for several years during the 90's in one of Birminghams finest maisonette blocks. It was a great time in my life but I didn't use the pub much as there seemed to be far to much trouble there.
