Thank you everyone for a making it another great afternoon, especially Wendy for providing a very informative tour.

Just a few pics of the day, more to follow.

I would like to thank everyone for today. I was a bit nervous to start with but it was really nice to meet so many people who i knew only by user name on the forum. Today was my first visit to Keyhill and it was really memorable. It was emotional to visit my great great grandads grave and it was good to hear about the many others buried there also. Thankyou Wendy and Brian for the cemetery tour, i was only sorry we had to dash off and couldn't stay longer.

Thanks Tracy

Hi all, just want to say a big THANK YOU to Wendy, and to Brian for the lovely tour and all the info today. It's the first time I've met people, so I was a bit nervous, but you made me so welcome. No probs with the talk Wendy - you're a natural; should take it up for a living :D (but we'll get you a megaphone next time) ;)

On behalf of my self and her indoors thank you all for another day to remember sorry we could not make it to the pen room we were all looking forward to going but will be going in the near future as soon as i fix the wheels on Lins skates. :D
wendy thank you for the tour it was most enjoyable is there any chance of a copy of the notes you were reading off as i would be very interested will be ging again as soon as Lins back on her feet as we both enjoy walking around grave yards. we werre most interested in the mas poor graves. Its then I know I aint a resident there. Once more to all of you thank you for a very pleasent day. Tiny/Lin

Thank you all for your kind comments. I forgot to thank Mike for our new badges they are lovely!:) Lyn the Thomas Walker grave is not finished as yet. Brian is not completely happy with it and he did comment it had to be right for you:rolleyes: As Templer commented there is a spare brick...maybe we could auction it!
My brother is doing ok so far thanks for asking.:)

Thanks everyone for another great day. Wendy i dont believe for one minute you hav'nt done that before,I'm voting you guide of the month. Nice to meet some new members, and dont forget we must arrange a meeting at the Barton Arms for Jenny Ann before she returns home on the 11th of November. Also thanks for Mike G for the new badge's.

There's only 3 Saturdays left till Jenny Ann leaves for home.
Next Saturday the 24th is,I think is a bit too soon, Sat November 7th is only 4 days before she returns. The only other date is Sat Oct 31st, Halloween, maybe we could do a fancy dress meet:D

Sorry I didn't introduce myself Jenny Ann. I didn't realise who you was till it was to late,I'll tap you on the shoulder next time:)

Nice pics glad you folks had a good day, Any one know of a map of Key Hill? showing the grave layout?

There are maps of the grave layout but they are held at Handsworth Cemetery and are massive. Most people locate graves from the name indexes. These give the secton of the cemetery then the grave numbers. As members here will testify Brian can find them in minutes with this information.:)

lyn...:)

Just to say what a great afternon we had, nice to see members and put faces to names, i think at first a few thought a couple of vagabonds had tagged onto the tour but we didn't want to interupt Wendy (I'm not a professional) whilst she was in full flow, LOL, have to say, she is a natural at it. The Pen Room, my first visit, is a gem of a place, make a bostin cuppa, entertained us with the video and had us all having a good laugh at the audio, great.

Bren it was great to meet you and Tom at last! Yes I must admit the audio at the Pen Room was the best laugh I have had in years! I can't wait to see some of Tom's photo's.

Who is Tom, i'm sure i was with Ken (keny r), mind you, we had been in the Jewellers but we didn't have that much lol.

I thought it was a great day, it was good to see so many people made it. It was lovely to see some old friends and meet new ones.
Thanks Wendy
BTW. Sat 7th Nov is bonfire night (for some displays) I imagine some might have family commitments
