That's intriguing Mike, which directory is that in please? I've only seen the Post Office Directory in 1867 and his listing at 66 Weaman St in the Commercial Directory on p261, but hadn't see a Samuel Smith & Sons entry.

This photo is labelled tobacconist in Weaman Street c1930. It is obviously not a tobacconists ! 22 Weaman Street up till at least 1921 was a gun parts manufactory. By 1932 it was a fruiterers run by Mrs Mabel Harris, who in 1937-1940 just described herself as a shopkeeper. The shop then disappeared from directories but by 1947 was occupied by a Turf Commision agent (Bookie). Mabel is listed there in the electoral rolls from 1927, so she already wes there in 19217 and possibly started off the establishment as a cafe. This sort of date would agree with the "c1920s" and the .clothing.
