It is regrettable that the badge cannot be issued posthumously. The badge is a survivors’ badge, which is to be worn on civilian attire. The only exception to this is War Widows and Widowers who are getting a War Widows/Widowers Pension.

New rules now apply, anyone who served in any of the forces upto and including 31st December 1969 may now apply,as well as your service No you will also be asked for your National Insurance No. Also if you served in the Merchant Navy during these times providing you were on active service you may also apply.
