Take Me High can be rented for £3.49 on Amazon Prime.

There's a recent article about the film in The Dispatch.

I saw Cliff face to face a few years ago outside St Martins in the Bullring. He regarded me with a quizzical smile as he clocked that I was working out if I knew him. We had never met. I managed not to say didn't you use to be CR!

I’ve just finished watching this film. It’s a real treat for a look back in time at Brum of the early 70s. Lots of shots of shops i’d forgotten about such as Nathan’s and Ratners, and Crowthers the beloved boutique mentioned often on here. There’s also a glimpse of the Church of the Messiah on Broad Street that I believe was demolished not long after.

As a lot of the film centres around Gas Street it’s no surprise to read that when Cliff was driving on the Aston Expressway the driver was actually Martin Hone, owner of the Opposite Lock Club.

During an interview with Cliff after the film with Russell Harty, who was a bit scathing about the locations of the film, CR said Birmingham was ‘fascinating’. Alls forgiven Cliff!
