Dek Carr, wendy is right with the pool & Bistro, its a fantasic little place been along time from when you could get food & drink at that pool. LOVE IT.
 
SUTTON PARK TOWN GATE 10 am Sunday 2nd July registration for walk for ALS & our sons late mother in law :0( HOPE TO SEE SOME OF YOU GUYS ,walk starts at 11am. Just ask for Barbara Jenney who as put this all togeather in memory of her Mom & Motonuron assosiation ( for give the spelling if it not right).
 
Visited the park today and parked outside Wyndley. We walked and tried to find the donkey sanctuary but was put off our tracks by a cloud burst and were forced to sit under a brolly outside the carvery pub. What a shame eh. I treated Pete to a pint instead. Will try again another day. Jean.

We are going there again Dek. I did enjoy today though despite the rain. We got back home and it had not rained a drop by the looks of it. The carvery was packed.
 
Last year 2010, was the first year since the 40's that I did not set foot in Sutton Park. I did visit last month and most of it still looks the same..I took a photo of Bracebridge Pool and it's little island. I can remember speaking to German and Italian POW's in that park and they would exchange interesting wooden carvings for a few Woodbines pinched off Dad !!
It's a special place, hope it always stays the same...

Oldmohawk thats a lovely photo I know exactly where you are the hours we used to swim from there to the island and riding back across those little wooden bridges I think 28 in all happy days indeed. Dek

G.G. from Wyndley as today turn right,, there is a cross roads opposite the Visitor centre, turn left instead of going towards the Main Gate and the Restaurant area, the Donkeys not that far away, on the right
 
whats the name of the donkey centre,s founder,Elizebeth Stivascent or something like that (sorry about the spelling)she also has the Donkey Centre just outside Seaton in Devon. Dek
 
Sunday walk in the park for MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE .Our Family Team raised £1,170.00 for the charity. Thanks go to our eldest sons Wife Barbara Who's Mom past away last Month will this & organised this fantastic collection.

Thanks Guys only wished I could have seen some of you at the event, the main lady who made all this money was our daughter in law, Barbara. Effort all in aid of her Mom over in the USA "one hell of a brave Lady to the end"LOVE YOU Ruth.
 
What a fantastic event well done all concerned. We have a friend in Chester with this terrible condition!
 
Second visit to Sutton park this week. Went in the Banners gate entrance today and there were cows all over the place including the little car park. We drove through Town gate the other day and visited the donkeys. A couple of photo's. Jean.
 
We were there on Tuesday, went in at Boldmere Gate, saw the cows and surrounding area and then back out through Boldmere. Wish we could still drive all the way round it like we used to when I lived in Boldmere, Four Oaks and Reddicap areas of Sutton.
 
Brenda I used to go to work through Banners gate and all the way to Wyndley gate and loved to watch the rabbits on the way. It is a shame. I think they ought to put a speed limit on the cyclists as some of them ride like maniacs and I don't refer to youngsters either. What with dogs off leads, cows and these speeders it puts you off sometimes. I do love the place though.
