Hello,

Hopefully someone may be able to help shed some light of a family line that I have been struggling with for over two years now.

I am interested in a death/burial of a Lydia Bull, formerly Davies born circa 1856 St Martins parish & death registered 3rd Qtr 1885 - aged 29. Husband of William James Bull aka James Bull. I am hoping this death is her, as I cannot find any census records at all!

Her daughter, Gertrude Lydia Bull was certainly born feb 1883 and registered in St Martins Parish ( I have copy cert etc already)

It is also possible that she had a son James William Bull registered in St Martins Parish JFM Qtr, 1885 - trying to confirm this too please

I cannot find any marriage for Lydia Davies to William James Bull either?

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

James William Bull dies in Q3 1885. A William James Bull marries Q4 1890 to Jane Hyett.
In the 1891 census William J and Jane are living with his parent's Samuel & Barbara Bull and there is a granddaughter Lydia Freer ? age 8.(this appears to William J's niece.
In the 1861 the William James Bull birth 1859 Birmingham is with Samuel & Barbara
In the 1871 is he James Bull with his parents age 11 ?

Hi,

Gertrude Lydia Bull is born 13th February 1883 at 34 Court, 5 Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham. Daughter of William James Bull, a Tube Drawer and Lydia Bull, formerly Davis of the same address. Birth is registered 27th March 1883.

Hope this helps, Thanks

I think that the enumerator being told that the children were grandchildren may have dittoed them all the same surname.
Barbara Frier is the daughter of John Frier and Sarah nee Bull and it appears that William is also.
On the 1871 Sarah is with her parents and also there is a 60 yr old relative surname McGeoch which is Barbaras second name.
There is no Samuel or Lydia Frier registered but there is a Samuel George Bull 1882.

the William J Bull in the 1891 census is a "brass tube worker" so is the correct one and his second marriage is to Jane Hyett.
The unmarried James Bull son of Samuel & Barbara in the 1881 is a brass tube worker.

So if he is James he is unmarried in 1881 and married in 1891. So what is his marital status on his 1890 wedding ?
