Snow Hill Station

Such happy memories, of that great place, dad took me as a child, and the engine was a green monster , lots of shining brass and copper, and great hiss's of steam. The driver said I could stand on the foot plate, dad lifted me up, the heat from the fire which was glowing, all around the cab, I remember every detail, though very young, frightened, but awe struck, at the same time, I must been about 5 or 6. !! Funny how some memories last!!

Fancy that still standing,...after the council LIARS said it was all sliding down the hill.......it still looks better than the rubbish front of the present Snow Hill station
have to agree mike..think we all understand that we must have progress but does it have to come at the very heavy cost of our history...the station was a great loss and once its gone its gone :(
