Sawkins Herbert Thomas

carolannesmith

Proud t b Brummie
born around 1890. married to annie simpson in 1914. father of three boys Frederick, Herbert and Alfred. His fathers name was also Herbert Thomas, his son herbert died i believe by drowning in a canal in 1926. any help with my grandfathers details would be greatly appreciated, unable to find him in either 1901 or 1911 census. thank you cas:)

i hav herbert and annie's marriage cert, they were living at 362 bolton rd, herbert was a tube drawer and annie worked in screw trade. herbert's dad had the same name and was deceased at time of marriage in 1914. annie's dad was henry simpson again stated as deceased. i always new my father had a brother that drowned but if i am researchin correctly (i am very new to this) he also had an older sister ethel m sawkins, born in 1914 who died a year later (year my dad was born) and a sister violet sawkins born in 1919 and died at age of 3. think i am correct in this as mothersname in each case was simpson.
any advice on further trackingfamily greatly appreciated. cas

There are 2 death entries for Herbert Sawkins. One appears to be the son you say died in 1926. The second is in 1925 but if this is the father it makes his birth year around 1878? not 1890 and this one would be too young to be the father of a child born 1890?

these are my family i had assumed my grandad was younger than he was. yes, he was born in 1880 in alton, hamps and died in1925 in aston brum. the young herbert would have been my uncle who died in the canal. hav u any advice how i might research his death, either an inquest or a report in the newspapers?
