Reservoir Road Erdington

This 1914 photo shows Reservoir Road at the junction with South Road. What's notable about this image is most of the shops have been converted back to dwellings. Only one shop left of those in view.

And a telegraph pole is still in place. Viv.

Viv, not sure if that's the shop or if it's further down but we get our elements from South Road. Every time the oven conks out we buy a new one from 'The Element Man'. Hope his shop doesn't go.

I remember this row of shops as having one of the very first Chinese Take Away in the area.

For some years I did not twig the location of this picture taken by my late uncle. I believe it to be the Highcroft Hall Football grounds behind the prefabs in Reservoir Road. The British Alsatian Association held their show there at least between 1950 and 1962.
