That's me Lyn. Bow in hair - always - and a smile (very rare). I was bridesmaid for the girl on the back. She married the caretaker's son of Cranborne Road/Kingsthorne Junior School. Zebra looks a bit dodgy!

Strange that I don't remember the holiday or the zebra (wondered if it was a dressed up donkey or just fake). But I distinctly remember the dress - those spots were yellow on a white background with a black patent belt.

Want the photo to show my grandaughters who find it hard to believe I was once their age.

Thank you so much Mort, much much better.

Carol at the back, my brother middle, me, my mum spotted skirt and Carol's mum. I used to call Carol's mum auntie Em, but she wasn't a relation. Spent quite a lot of time with them. Think Carol's mum and my mum became friends when they worked at George Ellison's. We all went to Belgium for a holiday together too, one of my first trips abroad.

Isn't autie Em's rubber ring skinny? Think they really were rubber in those days, not plastic. The mums look very well turned out for a trip to the beach !! I was wondering where at Barry Island this would have been. Looks like a promenade maybe.

That's great too Pedro ! Thank you. Well the grandkids will really enjoy seeing this photo.

Just hope that 'zebra' doesn’t freak them out.
