I have had some more really good luck today.
Yesterday I was about to post a thread asking for advice on what to do next as I was trying to find out the names of my Dads 3 half brothers. I only had a name for 1 of them - Aurthur William Reeves born 16/02/1904 and I wondered how on earth I was going to find out their names with only knowing their parents names - Thomas William Reeves and Kate Reeves nee Weston.
Anyway - my cousin has sent another email today with their names as found on a piece of paper to do with our grandads will. I have years of death too and have found all but Joseph.
Joseph would have had to have been born between 1901 and 1917 - probably around the same time as his brother Arthur and probably in Aston although I cannot be sure as the family were in Aston in 1903 but Ladywood definately by 1917(thats when kate died). My cousin says -
Joseph (joe) died in 1958/9 and lived in the Harbourne area of Birmingham he died fairly young from Lung Cancer and had one son David who would be now In his early 60’s
I cannot find Joseph in the death index - trouble is he might have had another first name with Joseph being his middle name. I have searched 1957-1960 very thoroughly with no luck.
What district would Harborne (I presume no U?) come under around that time?
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Gobby
